What is inside

  • 49 traditional recipes — drinks, soaks, rinses, rubs, masks, pastes, scrubs, steams, compresses, and rituals. Each fits one page of the book.
  • 15 purpose-organised sections so you reach for the right preparation without searching by ingredient.
  • Historical provenance for every recipe — sources cited from the 1st century (Dioscorides, Ebers Papyrus) through the 1800s (Culpeper, Gerard, Hildegard, Mrs. Beeton, the Anglo-Saxon Lacnunga).
  • A "When to skip" section on every page — covering pregnancy, nursing, common allergens, photosensitivity, medication interactions, and broken skin. Read it before you make the recipe.
  • Pantry setup guide — a grouped shopping list organised by where to buy: supermarket, spice rack, herbalist, chemist. Stock once. The book runs from there.
  • Back matter: a glossary of ingredients with botanical names, a bibliography of historical sources, and two full indexes — by wellness purpose and by ingredient.
  • PDF format — reads on phone, tablet, or computer. Prints cleanly to letter or A4.

Frequently asked questions

What format is the Almanac?

PDF. The file reads cleanly on any phone, tablet, or computer, and prints to letter or A4 paper. No app is required — just open it.

How do I receive it?

Immediately after payment you are redirected to the download page and receive a delivery email at the address you provided at checkout.

What is actually in the book?

49 traditional recipes across 15 wellness topics, each on a single formatted page. Every recipe includes ingredients, numbered method, how-to-use instructions, the historical record, and a plain "When to skip" safety section. Plus a pantry setup guide, glossary, bibliography, and two indexes.

Do I need unusual ingredients?

Almost everything is already in a working kitchen — honey, ginger, olive oil, salt, lemon, chamomile, oats. A handful of herbs (marshmallow root, dried calendula, red raspberry leaf) come from a herbalist or an Indian or Middle Eastern grocer. The pantry setup section lists exactly where to find each one.

Is this medical advice?

No. The Almanac is a collection of traditional kitchen preparations for general interest. Nothing in it is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Every recipe includes a "When to skip" section. Talk to your doctor before changing your routine.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes — a full refund within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked. Email andrew@andrewbush.org with your purchase email and order details.
